Leasowes Priory
Leasowes Priory

Having done hand-painted Christmas cards for my fellow volunteers and the wardens at my local park, one of the wardens asked me if I would be interested in doing some artwork for display in the park. They wanted to highlight some of the lost statuary and structures from the site as they would look if they were still here today. This painting was the result of that conversation, the research the warden had done into the construction and location of the monument and my own photographs of what that location looks like now. The warden will be writing the accompanying text and then the painting will be scanned for display on a sign board at the location.

Medium: Pastel
Size: 46 x 36 cm
Materials: Clairefontaine Pastelmat board. SAA soft pastels. Caran D'Ache pastel pencils
Mount Colour: Brown
