If Winter Comes
This painting is from a Jeremy Ford workshop that I attended in person at the SAA, something I haven’t done since for a variety of reasons over a very eventful last five years. This is a very atmospheric woodland winter scene, with a hazy sunset and crisp, cold snow. It’s amazing how much detail and atmosphere you can get with pastel sticks when doing a painting like this, as well as the finer detail from the pastel pencils to enhance it, such as the twigs, branches and grasses seen in the foreground of this painting.
