Sepia Days

This pastel painting is a combination of elements from my artistic development. The original design is from a Colin Bradley kit, River Scene at Old Fordwich, but this painting came together after much experimentation with paper, pastel pencils and even soft pastel sticks. Clairefontaine Pastelmat is now my pastel paper of choice (though I still use one or two others depending on the subject) and I use both soft pastel sticks and a choice two or three brands of pastel pencils to create my paintings. This was the first result of combining all these new elements together. My title for this painting is taken from a line in the song Leave it to the Dogs by The Stranglers (my favourite band for more years than I care to count!).

Medium: Pastel
Size: 34 x 28 cm
Materials: Clairefontaine Pastelmat paper. SAA soft pastels. Cretacolour pastel pencils
Mountboard Colour: White
