Pleased with the result of my version of The Moonshae Isles painting, I decided to try another fantasy style painting while attending my art class. This time, I found a reference painting in an issue of Dragon Magazine® from the 1980s. See my NEWS page for more on this. By this point, I was very familiar with both the Faber Castell pastel pencils and the Fabriano Ingres pastel paper, so the elements all came together to allow me to complete a very detailed painting. This was one of my chosen paintings for the end of year exhibition put on by my art group in 2011. Sadly, the group disbanded in the new year as the tutor had decided to retire over that Christmas.
