Mountain Lion
This pastel painting of a mountain lion (also known as a cougar or puma), is one of my development pieces that was painted as I was learning the techniques of pastel pencil art using the kits of art tutor Colin Bradley. Having progressed from the beginner kits with six colours, this one was more advanced and used 13 colours. I wanted to do this one as I've always liked the big cats (except lions, for some reason I've never quite worked out; maybe because they are not solitary like most of the other big cats).
