Kingfisher
This pastel painting of a Kingfisher on a branch is one of my development pieces that was painted as I was learning the techniques of pastel pencil art using the kits of art tutor Colin Bradley. This was one of the more advanced kits that used 18 pastel pencil colours.
As it is one of Colin Bradley’s kits, this is NOT part of my 'Bird on a Perch' series, unlike my paintings of a Peregrine Falcon and a Hoopoe, but the series will include a Kingfisher in due course, although given the current gap between paintings in the series, I might need a Tardis to fit it in at a sensible date!
